The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to lead the development team at 31st Union, which is currently crafting the forthcoming third-person action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
Leadership Shift Comes After Lukewarm Response
Brinkman takes on the role of studio head at the development studio following the departure of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's underwhelming early showing last fall.
On Wednesday, 2K president a key figure updated team members about this strategic move through an official communication, which stressed that early feedback sessions had shown the requirement for a clearer game identity.
Ismailer expressed that the developers is now reimagining the project with a revised vision, aiming to address gamer demands.
A Pattern of Key Acquisitions
The news follows a comparable action taken by the publisher in the summer, when they brought on an industry veteran from the Diablo team to contribute to the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.
